Sweet Potato Chilli

Sweet Potato Chilli

Sweet potatoes are absolutely one of my favorite things about Whole30. I can eat them any time, any day. They are packed with nutrition and I count on hearty food to sustain me through my busy day. And did I mention the sweet taste and flavor? They can compliment just about any food or meal.

I’ve been making homemade chili since my first Whole30 the Summer of 2015. I use minimal ingredients, and the seasonings I use, I keep on hand and use often in my kitchen. They are Chilli Powder, Mustard Powder, Oregano, Cumin and Paprika. It’s always bean-less and I typically use my own blanched, fresh tomatoes. Canned tomatoes are also recommended, read your labels for Whole30 compliance.

Meat options are open to you, the cook! I typically use a mix of beef and venison. You may also use ground chicken or ground turkey. You will need to add in some oil with these options as they are the most lean.

This is a great one-pot meal to play around with your taste buds and seasonings. If you like more spice, add red pepper or white pepper. Garlic Powder is also an option as well as onion powder. The recipe below is very consistent and kid-friendly too. All 3 of my children devour this one!

Get cooking friends! Love your family well and bring dinner back to the table!
